Local development projects announced in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and Sainte-Marie
In Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Mayor Fabien Roussel highlighted ongoing investments totaling 26 million euros. Key projects include the imminent demolition of the Danton collective building within the Manouvrier residence and the construction of a new SDIS fire station scheduled for March 2028.
Additionally, plans are advancing for a major sports and cultural complex, described as an ‘Equipment Sportif d’excellence’. The project, estimated to cost 30 million euros, aims to provide 3,000 to 3,500 seats and a 500-space parking lot. While land control and environmental studies are complete, the project awaits a final position from the State.
In Sainte-Marie, Mayor Céline Sitouze is proposing several initiatives to boost the local economy. These include the development of a new economic hub on the 60-hectare Gillot plain near the Roland-Garros airport and the future installation of a cable car system connecting the bus station and the airport to the upper parts of the commune.
