Local development updates in Neu-Isenburg and Bad Tölz
In Neu-Isenburg, the construction committee has majority-approved a preliminary design for the redesign of the market square in the Alten Ort district. The plan, presented by landscape architects Tonio Trüper (TGP) and Toponeo, aims to create a greener, flatter, and more accessible space. Key features include a brass inlay to trace the site of the Huguenot town hall demolished 150 years ago, new perennial plantings, and benches. The design seeks to maintain existing trees to eventually form a continuous shade canopy.
In Bad Tölz, the construction committee unanimously voted to recommend the repeal of a nearly 40-year-old development plan near the Isar Bridge. Established in 1987 to limit the number of pubs and restaurants to preserve peace in the spa town, the regulation is now seen as outdated. The move follows an inquiry for a new local establishment with alcohol service, prompting officials to suggest the current rules have become functionally obsolete.
