Local disputes arise in Dębica and Piaseczno over expansion and infrastructure

In Dębica, the local municipality head, Adam Pieniążek, has expressed strong opposition to plans by the city of Dębica to annex several neighboring villages, including Nagawczyna, Pustynia, Kędzierz, Kozłów, and Latoszyn. Pieniążek argues that the city's growth should not come at the expense of the municipality, particularly noting that the municipality's industrial zones near the highway junction generate significant tax revenue. In response to these boundary change proposals, there are discussions regarding renaming the municipality to 'Gmina Uzdrowiskowa Latoszyn-Zdrój,' a decision that will require social consultations.

In Piaseczno, residents have voiced significant concerns following a meeting with an investor regarding the construction of a new data center near Energetyczna Street. Local inhabitants expressed fears regarding noise pollution from cooling fans and potential water shortages in the region. While the investor, represented by Budimex spokesperson Marcin Graczyk, assured residents that acoustic screens would be used and water consumption would remain within environmental limits, residents reported that the meeting failed to provide concrete technical answers to their doubts. Construction on the four-hectare site has already commenced.
