Poland: Local municipalities implement ecological education and green infrastructure

Various municipalities across Poland are launching initiatives focused on ecological education and green infrastructure. In Ślesin, educational meetings are being held at a primary school as part of a EU-funded thermal modernization project aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.

In several regions, new outdoor learning spaces have been established. A 'Green Class' was opened at Primary School No. 1 in Świdnica, funded by the Toyota Fund, while a mini botanical garden was opened in Tworków to foster environmental awareness in children. Similarly, a scientific eco-playground and educational path were completed in Podlesie, Lelów, featuring solar-powered pavilions.

Other local projects include the opening of a 'Green Laboratory' in Pogrzebień following a school renovation, and the 'Outdoor Eco-Zone' project in Żukowo, which involved building insect hotels and installing educational boards. In Kobyłka, a playground is being greened with new trees and wildflower meadows, supported by InPost. Additionally, the Piaski municipality celebrated 'Tree Day' by planting a linden tree and opening an educational shelter.
