Local economic and environmental initiatives launched in Dosquebradas and La Matanza

In Dosquebradas, the local government and the Chamber of Commerce organized an artisanal fair that brought together 25 artisans, generating over $2.1 million in sales. The event showcased handmade products such as jewelry, textiles, and paintings, providing a commercial platform for new entrepreneurs with less than six months of experience.

Additionally, the Dosquebradas Mayor's Office, in collaboration with CARDER and Masbosques, has launched a $50 million incentive program for environmental conservation. Through the Payments for Environmental Services (PSA) program, rural landowners who protect forests, bamboo groves, and water sources can apply for economic recognition to support the sustainability of local ecosystems.

In La Matanza, local authorities are implementing a weekly agenda to strengthen social and solidarity economies. The program includes technical training, microcredits, and entrepreneurship management courses for over 200 participants. The initiative also features local fairs in Gregorio de Laferrere and González Catán, offering various goods and services to the community.
