Local educational initiatives in Spain promote vocational skills
In Viladecans, Heidi Mora, a bus electrician for TMB, participated in the ‘Jo de gran vull ser’ activity at the Atrium Theatre. The event, organized by the Viladecans City Council, aimed to challenge gender stereotypes in the workforce. Mora shared her professional journey with students from Escola Teide to encourage them to choose careers based on interest rather than gender norms. Other professionals, including a local police officer and a radiology technician, also shared their experiences to help break occupational stereotypes.
In Nules, students from the Talent Jove Nules electricity program completed electrification and lighting installations at the Nules Botanical Garden. This project, part of the ‘Nadal al Botànic’ campaign, allowed students to apply technical classroom knowledge to a real-world community project. The work included installing a light tunnel in the central corridor and electrifying various thematic areas to create a festive environment for the Christmas season.
