Local elections feature school board and municipal measures

Various regional elections are taking place, involving school board trustees and local ballot measures.

In the District, voters are choosing two trustees for the Board of Trustees in Areas A and D. In Area A, incumbent Board President Amy Koo is running against Alon Shiran, who advocates for reintroducing tracked classes for freshmen. In Area D, Michael Dekshenieks is running unopposed. Additionally, Menlo Park voters will consider Measure P, which would require voter approval for any city ordinances that decrease downtown parking availability.

In Windsor-Essex, voters are selecting school board trustees for four publicly funded school boards to serve four-year terms. The Greater Essex County District School Board features multiple open seats and re-election bids across various wards, including Windsor, Amherstburg, LaSalle, Tecumseh, Lakeshore, Essex, Kingsville, Leamington, and Pelee Island. The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board also sees several candidates competing for trustee positions.
