Local environmental cleanup initiatives held in Italy

Various local environmental cleanup initiatives have taken place across Italy. In Paterno Calabro, the municipality organized its fifth ‘Ecological Day’ on September 5. Volunteers and local administration gathered in Piazza San Francesco to clean and maintain public spaces, aiming to foster civic responsibility and community connection through collective action.

In the Pordenone region, the ‘Puliamo i quartieri’ project resumed following a summer break. A cleanup operation in the Borgomeduna area on September 5 resulted in the collection of 36.3 kg of waste. The collected materials included glass and plastic bottles, cigarette butts, and various bulky items such as a bicycle, a broken tent, and wooden panels. The effort focused on the Meduna riverbanks and adjacent green areas to address ongoing issues with littering in the district.
