Local environmental initiatives launched in Argentina and Chile

In Tolhuin, Argentina, the municipal government conducted a cleaning operation at the head of Lake Fagnano. The initiative, led by the Coordination of Environment and Urban Habitat, aimed to remove accumulated waste following high visitor numbers and rising temperatures. Officials stated that these cleaning efforts will continue in various neighborhoods and public spaces to prevent pollution and manage micro-dumps.

In Chile, employees from Turbus, JAC, and Buses Bio Bio partnered with the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) to plant 200 native trees in the Lago Peñuelas National Reserve. This third annual event focuses on the ecological restoration of areas previously damaged by forest fires. The planting included species such as quillay, pimiento, and huingán to support the reserve's natural heritage.
