Italy explores diverse impacts of artificial intelligence
Various sectors in Italy are engaging with the implications of artificial intelligence, ranging from academic recognition to cultural performances. In Alessandria, Deda Ai and the Università del Piemonte Orientale have established the Pierluigi Riva Prize to reward the best master's thesis in artificial intelligence and digital innovation, aiming to bridge the gap between academic research and business applications.
The cultural sector is also integrating AI through performance art. In Avellino, the RA.I.D. Festivals featured dance performances exploring the relationship between humans and technology. In Borgaretto, the ASD Danzarmonia association is preparing a production that uses an actress to interpret the role of AI to examine human emotions. Additionally, the comedy troupe I Legnanesi is launching a new show, “Intelligenza Artigianale,” which uses humor to contrast technological progress with human intuition.
In the educational and corporate spheres, students from Liceo Scientifico Antonio Pacinotti participated in the Next Gen AI Summit in Cernobbio to discuss sustainability and innovation. Meanwhile, in Piombino, a forum titled “Scuola: seminando desideri” brought together school leaders and students to discuss how AI is transforming educational processes and the role of teachers.
