Local festivals commence in Barbastro and Lugones

Various local festivities have commenced in Barbastro and Lugones. In Barbastro, the Peña Ferranca is celebrating its 70th anniversary as part of the festivities for the Nativity of Our Lady. The event featured the presentation of the Ferranqueras, a group of women with long-standing ties to the association, who were honored to lead the band for this milestone year. Peña Ferranca president Cristina González highlighted the organization's history and its role in promoting sports, mountain activities, and football alongside social celebrations.

In Lugones, the Santa Isabel festivities officially began with a proclamation by Alba Hernández-Mirueña, founder of Candelarte. During her speech, she emphasized the importance of social fabric and the need for younger generations to connect with their community beyond digital screens. The opening was followed by the Ruta Santa Isabel, featuring musical performances and activities designed for families and various age groups.
