Local festivals drive economic and community engagement in Dosquebradas and La Cruz
In Dosquebradas, the ‘DoReMi’ business fair, described as a ‘Simulacro Decembrino’, successfully boosted local commerce. Held at the El Progreso shopping center, the event combined music and entrepreneurship, attracting over 300 participants. Local businesses, food trucks, and entrepreneurs reported a 40% increase in sales, totaling more than $23 million pesos. Tatiana Ocampo, Secretary of Economic Development and Competitiveness, noted that the integration of cultural experiences with commercial opportunities significantly stimulated the local economy.
In La Cruz, Chile, the third annual Fiesta de la Palta Crucina concluded at Poza Cristalina, drawing thousands of families. The event featured musical performances by artists such as Pascuala Ilabaca, Los Magnates de la Cumbia, and El Llanero de Ñuble, alongside a nostalgic appearance by the children's show Cachureos. Mayor Filomena Navia Hevia reported that the festival exceeded attendance expectations and provided substantial opportunities for local trade.
