Local festivals to be held in Suncheon and Gwacheon

South Korean cities are hosting various local festivals. In Suncheon, the 10th annual Suncheon Food and Art Festival will take place from October 16 to 18 in the old downtown area, including Jungang-ro and Culture Street. The festival, themed ‘MINARI GREEN’, will feature food booths offering local ingredients at affordable prices, a dedicated grilled chicken zone, and various art exhibitions and performances. To promote sustainability, the event will implement the use of multi-use containers to reduce disposable waste.

Meanwhile, Gwacheon will host the 16th Gwacheon Lifelong Learning Festival from the 30th to the 31st at the Gwacheon Civic Center. The event features 68 participating organizations and 95 booths offering exhibitions, performances, and hands-on experiences. A notable addition this year is an AI-focused zone where citizens can engage with artificial intelligence through activities such as AI-generated art badge making, AI tarot, AI drawing, and moving robot video filming.
