Local festivities and aerial displays held in Toulon and Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer

Various local festivities and demonstrations took place across France on August 14 and 15, 2026. In Toulon, residents reported hearing loud noises on Friday morning caused by two Rafale fighter jets performing aerial maneuvers over the Mourillon beaches. These flights served as a preview for the scheduled August 15 air show, which includes demonstrations by the Patrouille de France.

In Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer on the Côte de Nacre, hundreds of people participated in a ‘tintamarre’ on Saturday afternoon. Participants marched along the dike using pots and spoons to create noise, a tradition marking the Acadian National Day. The event is part of Acadian Week, which commemorates the Canadian soldiers, specifically Acadians, who landed in Normandy in 1944.
