Local figures Angelo Viganò and Don Angelo Lai pass away in Italy

Local communities in Italy are mourning the passing of two prominent figures.

In the Adda Martesana region, the Democratic Party (PD) is honoring Angelo Viganò, a dedicated volunteer and member of the Liscate circle. Viganò was a long-standing presence at the Festa dell’Unità in Melzo, where he was recognized for his tireless commitment to community participation and local political events.

In Ferrara, Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi expressed profound sadness over the death of Don Angelo Lai. The Cardinal, who appointed Lai as the parish priest of Pieve di Cento in 2016, described him as a man of great charity and practical wisdom. Funerals for Don Lai were scheduled to be held at the Collegiata di Pieve di Cento.
