Local food and beverage events scheduled in Greece

Various regional culinary events are set to take place in Greece, highlighting local agricultural products and traditional production methods.

In Moni, Malevizi, the 13th Wine Competition will be held on Sunday, November 1. Organized by the Municipality of Malevizi, the Region of Crete, and the Moni Cultural Association, the event focuses on the current year's harvest. Amateur producers will compete in white, rosé, and red wine categories. The event will feature a lecture by oenologist Giannis Charkoutsis on solutions for rural winemaking challenges, accompanied by traditional music and local gastronomy.

In Larissa, the Melivoia Agricultural Cooperative and Peneos Brewery are hosting a tasting event on Tuesday, October 27. The collaboration showcases ‘LoChes’, a specialty chestnut beer created by combining Melivoia chestnuts with local brewing expertise. This event serves as a precursor to the Melivoia Chestnut Festival, scheduled for October 30 through November 1.
