Local food festivals held in Okazaki and Kawaguchi

In Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture, the Hacho Miso Cooperative held its annual Kirari Matsuri on October 17. The event, hosted by long-standing producers Kakyu Hacho Miso and Maruya Hacho Miso, aims to promote the traditional miso production methods of Hacho-cho. Activities included miso-based food tastings, such as miso hot pots and miso-infused kimbap, as well as special tours of the miso warehouses led by company leadership.

In Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, preparations are underway for the Kawaguchi x Zeppin Gourmet Nabe Matsuri 2026. Scheduled for December 4 to 6, 2026, at the Kyu-po-la Plaza near Kawaguchi Station, the festival will feature over 20 types of hot pot dishes from across Japan. The lineup includes seafood options like oyster, pufferfish, and monkfish, alongside meat-based dishes and regional specialties. The event also includes a stamp rally with prizes and a local information expo to promote regional revitalization.
