Local food transition initiatives launch in France
Various community initiatives in France are focusing on food transition and sustainable nutrition through local engagement and participatory projects.
In the Pays d'Allevard region, the REPAT association is organizing a festive banquet and producer market. The event aims to bring together local producers, residents, and stakeholders to discuss food transition. Activities include a market featuring local meat, vegetables, dairy, and bread, alongside cooking workshops and educational quizzes designed to increase knowledge about food sources.
In the Haut-Var region, the GEDAR Provence d’Azur is launching a project to establish a ‘Social Security for Food’ in the communes of Guillaumes and Puget-Théniers. This initiative involves a series of workshops, debates, and shared meals intended to help citizens design local governance for healthy and equitable food access. The program includes participatory workshops, film screenings, and discussions to experiment with new food systems.
