Local governance and rural development initiatives in Vietnam
Local authorities in Vietnam are focusing on administrative efficiency and rural development to improve living standards. In Lao Cai province, officials in Nghia Tam commune are emphasizing the responsibility of leaders to ensure transparency, digital transformation, and effective land management to prevent corruption and better serve citizens.
In Quang Binh province, the newly merged Thuong Trach commune is receiving significant support to improve the lives of its ethnic minority population, primarily the Bru-Van Kieu and Chut people. Supported by Ho Chi Minh City authorities and Vingroup, a 26.2 billion VND project is set to begin in early 2026 to construct 42 houses and integrated infrastructure in the Arem area. Additionally, 30 Great Unity houses have been provided to ethnic minority households through support from national energy and industrial groups.
