Local government disputes over public works in Italy

In Montefano, the Montefano Domani council group has criticized the local administration regarding the management of public works. The group expressed concerns over the timeline for a new nursing home project, noting that the chosen site requires an urban planning variation and may face significant geological challenges, such as landslide stabilization, which could increase costs and delay construction.

In Motteggiana, Mayor Massimo Bonesi addressed delays in the redevelopment of the town hall. Following inquiries from minority council members, the Mayor clarified that the contractor, Consorzio Pangea, has effectively abandoned the site after only conducting brief exploratory surveys. The administration is currently evaluating whether to issue a formal warning or proceed with a report to the National Anti-Corruption Authority (Anac) to potentially terminate the contract.
