Local government initiatives advance in Santiago Mariño and Maturín
In the Santiago Mariño municipality of Aragua, the Cuadra Comunal project is underway in the Las Rurales sector of the Pedro Arévalo Aponte parish. Mayor Carlos Guzmán reported that the initiative aims to improve the quality of life for over 5,000 families through infrastructure improvements. Completed works include the rehabilitation of the Cerebral Palsy Center, while ongoing projects target the Casa de los Abuelos Vencedores de Paya, a local medical clinic, a maternal center, a church, an information center, the Rafael Seijas School, and a community sports court.
In Maturín, Mayor Ana Fuentes submitted the 2027 budget project, including income and expenditure ordinances, to the Maturín Municipal Council. The budget was developed following projections by the Local Public Planning Council and incorporates Agendas Concretas de Acción (ACA) designed by communal structures. Additionally, the Maturín Local Urban Development Plan (Pdul) has introduced proposals to transform urban mobility. The plan focuses on pedestrian priority and aims to establish 10 mobility corridors, including six exclusive pedestrian paths and four mixed-use corridors, to connect major avenues and public plazas.
