Local government initiatives launch leisure and sports infrastructure improvements in Brazil
In Presidente Prudente, the Municipal Secretariat of Sports (Semepp) has officially inaugurated the revitalized leisure area in Vale das Parreiras. The project, which received R$ 400,000 in funding from federal deputy Carlos Zarattini, includes new painting, fencing, and basketball equipment. The outdoor area has also been upgraded with a new playground, tables, benches, and a wooden pergola to improve community coexistence.
In Ribeirão Pires, the city administration has begun removing outdoor gym equipment from Parque Oriental as part of a revitalization plan. The structures will undergo technical evaluation and maintenance before being relocated to the Ayrton Senna Complex in the city center. This relocation aims to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and provide more inclusive physical activity opportunities, while the space vacated at Parque Oriental will be repurposed for children's leisure.
