Local government initiatives launched in Formosa and Tolhuin

In Formosa, the municipal program ‘La Muni en tu Barrio’ brought various administrative and health services directly to the Eva Perón neighborhood. Mayor Jorge Jofré visited the site, noting that the initiative aims to assist residents who face difficulties traveling to the city center due to work, health, or transportation costs. Services provided included land registry, commercial licensing, legal advice, driver's license training, primary health care, and veterinary services such as vaccinations and neutering.

In Tolhuin, local authorities conducted training for taxi drivers to improve the use of a digital platform. Julio Velázquez, Director of Commercial Licensing, stated the goal is to modernize the service, ensure passenger safety through geolocation, and prevent unfair competition by encouraging trips to be managed through the app. The system, developed by a programmer from Ushuaia, has been in use for approximately two years and currently supports 29 active taxi licenses.
