Local Government NSW announces 2026 Water Management Conference
Local Government NSW (LGNSW) has announced the 2026 Water Management Conference, to be held in Ballina from September 2-4. The event will focus on water security for rural, regional, and remote communities.
LGNSW President Darcy Byrne noted that council-owned water utilities serve nearly two million people across New South Wales. The conference aims to address challenges such as aging infrastructure, climate extremes, population growth, and water quality. The program will include discussions on sustainable funding, climate resilience, and emerging technologies, featuring speakers including Minister for Water Rose Jackson.
Ballina Shire Council will host the event, which operates under the theme ‘Local Water, Shared Responsibility’.
