Local governments distribute livestock to support food security

In Yucatán, Mexico, the DIF Yucatán organization has distributed 682 dual-purpose birds to development groups in the communities of Buenavista and Estrella within the Chemax municipality. This initiative, part of the Community Health and Wellbeing Program, aims to promote food security and family self-sufficiency. The distribution included 308 birds to the ‘Las Rosas de Buenavista’ group and 374 birds to the ‘Las Palmas’ group.

In Arboleda, Colombia, the municipal administration has launched a productive project providing piglets and feed to local women. The initiative is designed to strengthen food production, create new economic opportunities, and improve living conditions for beneficiary families. The program intends for the piglets to reproduce over the next three months, allowing for a progressive expansion of local production and family income.
