Local governments in Ciénaga and Elche present 2027 budget proposals

In Ciénaga, Colombia, community leaders, council members, and social representatives have concluded two sessions of participatory budget construction for 2027. Led by the Advisory Planning Office, the process gathered proposals for public works, programs, and services to ensure resource allocation aligns with territorial needs. These initiatives will now undergo executive evaluation by Mayor Luis Fernández Quinto and the Government Council before proceeding to the Municipal Council.

In Elche, Spain, the PSOE has presented its 2027 municipal budget proposals, emphasizing social services over infrastructure and decoration. Spokesperson Héctor Díez proposed increasing agreements with socio-sanitary entities, expanding day center capacity, and providing rental assistance and housing rehabilitation subsidies. Other measures include climatizing schools, improving sports infrastructure, extending urban bus services until 23:00, and implementing a modernization plan for small businesses.
