Local governments in North and South Carolina hold upcoming meetings

Several local government bodies in the Southeastern United States are scheduled to hold meetings this week. In North Carolina, the Wilmington City Council will conduct an agenda review, while the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners and the Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen have scheduled sessions.

Pender County officials will address several items, including a $1.3 million purchase order for a fleet garage, a well filtration project, and public hearings regarding rezoning for over 1,000 single-family homes and a wastewater treatment facility. Brunswick County will discuss wastewater capacity and the Brunswick County Agricultural Fair.

In South Carolina, the North Myrtle Beach City Council is set to meet. The agenda includes an executive session regarding legal briefings on short-term rental litigation and potential easements. The council will also consider revisions to the city employee personnel manual, specifically regarding the carryover of unused sick leave for staff and firefighters.
