Local governments launch citizen participation initiatives

The initiative aims to move beyond theoretical discussions toward practical engagement. A Democracy Day is scheduled for September 17, where residents can discuss topics such as the profile of the new mayor. The final vision is expected to be established by December 10.

In Hoogstraten, the ‘Resilient Minderhout’ project has been launched to develop a future vision for the village of Minderhout. The project involves residents, associations, and partners to address the repurposing of buildings and the need for investments in infrastructure, including schools and community spaces. The focus areas include the Schoolstraat, the Kuip area, and Koestraat. The administration will conduct thinking sessions, interviews, and consultation meetings in the coming months to gather community ideas.
