Local historical events held in Borger and Spaarnwoude

The Hunebedcentrum in Borger is hosting the OERweekend on October 17 and 18. During this event, hobbyists recreate prehistoric life to educate visitors about the era of hunter-gatherers and early farmers who inhabited the Drenthe region over 5,000 years ago. Demonstrations include bronze casting and various ancient crafts intended to bring history to life.

In Haarlemmermeer, the ‘Ontdek Spaarnwoude!’ event takes place on October 18. The program features an interactive discovery walk starting at the Stompe Toren, a monument dating back to 1225. The event aims to showcase the history of the polder through guided routes and activities centered around the historic tower.
