Local history and journalism events scheduled in Italy
Two cultural events focusing on regional history and journalism are set to take place in Italy.
In Ales, a public meeting titled “Voci dal territorio, sguardi sul mondo: Il Nuovo Cammino si racconta ad Ales” will be held on November 6, 2026, at the Teatro San Luigi. The event commemorates 30 years since the resumption of publications for the newspaper Il Nuovo Cammino, which was originally founded in 1948. The program includes contributions from Bishop Roberto Carboni, Don Stefano Mallocci, and Simona Scioni of the Order of Journalists of Sardinia. Following the meeting, an exhibition at the Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra will showcase the newspaper's history through archival articles and vintage photographs.
In Alessandria, author and journalist Andrea Vignoli will present his book, “Le mille e una Novi: Storie di un territorio e delle sue trasformazioni,” at the Museo della Gambarina on November 11. Published by Edizioni Epoké, the book explores the history, legends, and transformations of Novi Ligure. The presentation is part of the “Storie alessandrine” literary series and will examine how historical decisions and chance events shaped the identity of the territory.
