Local holidays announced for Tres Algarrobos and Loreto

Various local holidays in Argentina and Peru will grant specific groups of workers extended rest periods in August.

In the Buenos Aires province of Argentina, the town of Tres Algarrobos, located in the Carlos Tejedor district, will observe a non-working day on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. This marks the town's 125th anniversary. Following the national holiday for General José de San Martín on Monday, August 17, eligible workers in the public administration and the Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires will experience a four-day weekend.

In Peru, the region of Loreto will observe a non-working day on Thursday, August 13. This date commemorates the official certification of the Amazon River as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature by the New7Wonders Foundation. The measure is specific to the Loreto region and does not apply to the entire country.
