Local infrastructure and civic issues addressed in Heigenbrücken and Cham

In Heigenbrücken, the local municipal council has approved a major sewer renovation project scheduled for 2027. The project aims to repair approximately 486 meters of main sewer and 51 meters of connection lines, along with repairing 18 manholes. To minimize disruption, the municipality will primarily use a trenchless inliner method, which coats damaged pipes from the inside with resin to avoid extensive road excavation.

The total cost is estimated at approximately €405,000, with roughly €290,000 eligible for subsidies. The Water Management Office is expected to cover about 40% of the eligible amount. Tendering is set for late 2026 or early 2027, with construction beginning in spring 2027 and completion expected by autumn 2027.

In the Cham district, a citizen dialogue event held at the district office allowed residents to discuss local issues directly with District Administrator Christian Schindler. Key topics included public transportation, specifically the overcrowding of school buses on routes between Rötz and Cham, and the potential integration into the Regensburg Transport Association (RVV). Discussions also covered energy transition, climate adaptation, and healthcare services.
