Local infrastructure and traffic disputes reported in Romania

In Constanța, local councilor Cătălin Iacob has criticized a new pedestrian arrangement in the Km 4-5 neighborhood. The installation, which consists of an asphalt strip delimited by a row of bollards at the same level as the roadway, was described by Iacob as being constructed with a “low-budget and low-mind” approach. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding pedestrian infrastructure in the city, where previous projects have faced issues such as incomplete sidewalks or obstacles like trees placed in the middle of walkways.

In Bocșa, a dispute has emerged between Mayor Mirel Pascu and Sergiu Crețan, the general secretary of AUR Caraș-Severin, regarding the installation of speed limiters on Sadovei Street. Crețan proposed the measure through the Local Council to address speeding concerns, but Mayor Pascu rejected the initiative on procedural grounds. Pascu stated that the Local Council does not have the authority to establish road signaling and speed limits, noting that such changes require citizen requests and approval from the city's traffic commission instead.
