Local infrastructure projects begin in Pistoia and Troina

Various municipal infrastructure projects are commencing in Italy. In Pistoia, work begins on Monday, October 26, to extend public lighting along the Via Variante di Bussotto. Managed by Hera Luce, the project involves installing 16 new LED streetlights on 8-meter steel poles and establishing a new 250-meter aerial power line to improve visibility and safety. Temporary parking bans and traffic diversions will be in effect until November 6.

In Troina, extraordinary road maintenance and resurfacing works have officially started. Funded by a nearly 3 million euro regional grant obtained for 2025, the project includes laying new asphalt on several city arteries, completely renovating Piazza Martiri d’Ungheria, and performing specialized maintenance on the porphyry paving of Via Garibaldi. The works are expected to continue through the spring, at which point horizontal and vertical road signage will also be updated. Mayor Alfio Giachino noted that the start was strategically delayed to allow utility companies to complete underground cable and fiber optic installations, preventing damage to new road surfaces.
