Local infrastructure projects commence in Koblach and Hammersbach
In Koblach, Austria, officials and planners held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Birken reservoir. The project, part of the Gruppenwasserversorgung Vorderland (GWV), aims to secure long-term drinking and fire water supplies for the member municipalities of Klaus, Röthis, and Weiler. The new reservoir will feature two water chambers with a total capacity of 1,500 m³ and is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2027.
In Hammersbach, Germany, construction has begun on a new fire brigade training tower. The project addresses a long-standing need for modern training facilities that allow firefighters to practice high-altitude rescues, stair climbing with breathing apparatus, and roof rescue simulations under realistic conditions. The tower is considered the final major component of the local fire station complex, which was originally built approximately 15 years ago.
