Local infrastructure projects underway in Essen and Schmidmühlen
Local infrastructure projects are underway in Germany, including the complete renovation of the Breilsort playground in Essen. The approximately 1,300 square meter facility has been redesigned to provide a modern, versatile space for children of various ages. The playground features climbing and balancing elements, swings, a slide, and a dedicated sand area for younger children. Constructed primarily from eco-friendly robinia wood, the site aims to integrate play with nature. Further planting of trees and shrubs is scheduled for autumn 2026 to provide shade and create habitats for local wildlife.
In Schmidmühlen, SV Eintracht Schmidmühlen has begun a 200,000 euro modernization of its community sports field. The project focuses on transforming the existing sand pitch into a modern grass pitch to create a more versatile sports facility for the club and the community.
