Local initiatives in Fort Saskatchewan and Sudbury address crime and children's health

In Fort Saskatchewan, the RCMP Crime Reduction Unit has deployed bait bikes equipped with tracking technology to combat rising bicycle thefts. This proactive enforcement effort has led to the arrest of five individuals for bicycle theft-related offences over the past month.

In Sudbury, Dairy Queen locations will participate in Miracle Treat Day on August 13, 2026. Net proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold during the event will benefit the local children’s hospital foundation.
