Local initiatives launch safety and violence prevention programs in schools
Various regional programs are targeting secondary school students to promote safety and healthy social behaviors. In Arrecifes, Argentina, the municipal government has initiated a road safety awareness cycle. Led by the Secretariat of Security and the Transit Directorate, the program focuses on life-saving measures such as the mandatory use of helmets and adherence to traffic regulations.
In Culiacán, Mexico, the State Council for the Prevention and Care of Family Violence (CEPAVIF), through the Sinaloa Women's Secretariat, conducted a training session titled ‘Dating Without Violence.’ The initiative aims to help adolescents recognize emotional and physical warning signs in interpersonal relationships using tools like the ‘Violentómetro.’ The program also provides information on psychological and legal support services available through the ‘Línea Mujer Segura’ hotline.
