Local initiatives launch to support families of people with ASD

Local governments in Argentina and Spain are implementing initiatives to support families of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD/TEA).

In San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina, the Mental Health Department, in coordination with the 'Hablemos de Autismo' Foundation, has established a bi-weekly listening and emotional support space. These free sessions aim to provide containment and information to help caregivers manage the physical and emotional demands of supporting individuals with ASD.

In Spain, the Department of Education has organized training sessions for families as part of an inclusive education plan. Led by psychologist Ester Rovira, these sessions provide practical tools and strategies to improve the daily well-being and inclusion of children and adolescents with ASD. The initiative also aims to provide specific training for professionals to strengthen support both at home and in schools.
