Local issues arise in Diyarbakır and Edirne
In Diyarbakır, residents of Melikahmet Street are expressing frustration over the closure of sidewalks and pedestrian routes leading to the Inner Bazaar. Local citizens report that the lack of accessible walkways is hindering daily shopping and movement in this historic commercial center. Pedestrians are calling on authorities to implement a permanent solution to restore access to these essential transit areas.
In Edirne, municipal teams were deployed to remove three stray horses that were wandering through the historic Selimiye Square, located in front of the UNESCO World Heritage Selimiye Mosque. While the horses drew attention from tourists and locals, residents expressed concern that the presence of stray animals in such a significant historical site is inappropriate for the city's image. The animals were eventually moved away from the city center by municipal workers.
