Local Japanese yakiniku restaurants announce closures

Two local yakiniku establishments in Japan have announced their upcoming closures.

In Takasaki City, Kaizawa-cho, the popular yakiniku restaurant ‘Horumon Takasaki’ closed its doors on September 27, 2026. The establishment was known for its wide variety of offal and charcoal-grilled style.

In Kurume City, Higashi-machi, the yakiniku pub ‘Yakiniku Horumon Hiroya’ is scheduled to close on October 31, 2026. Following its closure, a new wagyu-focused restaurant named ‘Yakiniku Goen’ is expected to open at the same location in mid-November.
