Local leaders in Tres Arroyos address re-election and community development

Pablo Garate, the Mayor of Tres Arroyos, addressed local governance and potential re-election during a recent interview. Garate stated that discussing a future candidacy is “very premature” and that he intends to focus on resolving local issues rather than an early electoral campaign. He noted that a decision regarding his candidacy will only be made in June 2026, coinciding with the deadline for submitting candidate lists.

Garate also expressed concern regarding recent criminal incidents that have impacted the sense of security within the community.

In San Francisco de Bellocq, municipal delegate Marcos Taboada discussed preparations for the town’s upcoming centennial in 2027 and the Rural Tourism Festival scheduled for September 19 and 20. Taboada highlighted efforts to create a digital historical archive and coordinate with tourism and culture departments to strengthen the Route 72 corridor. Additionally, the delegation is working on road maintenance and waste collection planning, while prioritizing preventative measures against potential climate phenomena like “El Niño”.
