Local leadership changes in Waddinxveen and Bergen op Zoom

In Waddinxveen, Marko de Jong has been elected as the new village poet. Following a competition at Cultuurhuys De Kroon involving six candidates, a jury selected De Jong to hold the title for a two-year term. His winning poem focused on the 'Wokkels', an entity celebrating its 40th anniversary next year. De Jong aims to make poetry accessible and enjoyable for all residents.

In Bergen op Zoom, Rob van den Aarsen has entered local government as a new alderman. Representing the GBWP, Van den Aarsen will oversee the portfolios of Culture, Economy, and Work & Income. Despite having no prior political experience, he brings a diverse background from the transport industry, music, and community leadership.
