Local Libraries Launch Kids Summer Reading Programs

Perrot Memorial Library announced its 2026 Summer Reading program for children ages 3‑14, running from June 24 to August 14. The in‑person program offers a series of prizes, including treasure‑chest items after two books, a free book after four, and a free mini‑milkshake after seven. A Read‑to‑Me option also lets parents and toddlers (0‑2) earn a free picture book after ten shared reads.

Champlain Library in Vankleek Hill, Ontario, introduced its TD Summer Reading Club with the “Dive In!” theme. The kickoff event is on June 25, and registration stays open through the summer. Children ages 0‑13 can earn a chance to win an inflatable pool by signing up before July 11. The program provides themed book bags, outdoor storytimes, and a beach‑party finale, aiming to keep reading skills sharp during the school break.
