Ambato Mercado Central to distribute free traditional food

The Mercado Central in Ambato, Ecuador, will distribute 1,000 free portions of colada morada accompanied by guaguas de pan to celebrate the Day of the Dead. The distribution is scheduled to begin at 10:00 on Thursday, October 29, for the first 1,000 customers.

A second free distribution event is planned for Friday, October 30, starting at 15:00 on the explanada of the Ambato Municipality. Local merchants organized the activity to celebrate the season and invite citizens to visit the market facilities, which include fruit and vegetable stalls on the ground floor and a food court on the upper floor.

In addition to the food distribution, the market will host seasonal celebrations, including the election of the Reina de la Colada Morada and the Cuchara de Palo.
