Local Mediterranean restaurants close in Bellingham and Cambridge

Several long-standing Mediterranean dining establishments are closing or facing transitions. In Bellingham, Washington, Kebab Casual has announced its closure, prompting a search for local alternatives such as Falafel Truck, Mediterranean Specialties, Pita Pit, Cafe Akroteri, and The Little Oasis Kabob House.

In the Cambridge and Arlington area, the family-run Lebanese restaurant Cafe Barada will close its full-service dining operation on December 5. Owners Charbel Salameh and his parents cited aging kitchen equipment and the inability to secure a long-term lease from new landlords as the primary reasons for the decision. Salameh noted that without a five to ten year lease, the family could not justify the necessary kitchen renovations.
