Local municipalities in Midden-Groningen and Schoten launch resident surveys
The municipality of Midden-Groningen in the Netherlands has initiated a resident survey to better understand the needs and opinions of its community. Starting October 18 and running until November 6, the study covers topics such as neighborhood safety, health, leisure, economy, energy, sustainability, and municipal services. Ipsos I&O is conducting the research, which targets 3,500 randomly selected residents via personal codes, though all residents aged 16 and older are eligible to participate digitally or via paper questionnaires.
In Schoten, Belgium, local authorities have launched a communication monitor to evaluate how residents experience municipal information and which channels they prefer. The survey aims to improve how the local government shares news regarding services, practical information, and community events. Residents can participate online or via paper copies available at various local locations. To encourage participation, the municipality is offering fourteen gift vouchers to be used at local businesses.
