Local musical events scheduled in Port Angeles and 100 Mile House

Two community music events are scheduled for early November. In Port Angeles, Monday Musicale will host its 59th anniversary Scholarship Benefit Concert on Sunday, Nov. 1, at First Presbyterian Church. The concert features various performers, including the Christine Moon Trio, Nashville native Falyn, the classical group Vicki Helwick/Euterpe Sings, and the Jimmy Hoffman Band. Proceeds from the event, which requests a $20 donation per person, support scholarships for local music students.

In 100 Mile House, the inaugural Evening of Song will take place on Nov. 7 at Martin Exeter Hall. Organized by Trish Chung to coincide with the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) Music Creator Day, the event will showcase local singer-songwriters. The concert is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with admission by donation. Proceeds will cover hall rental costs and provide payment to the performing artists.
