Local officials distribute school supplies to vulnerable children in Togo and Cameroon
Local authorities and officials in Togo and Cameroon are distributing school supply kits to support vulnerable children ahead of the new academic year.
In Togo, Senator Claudine Kossiwa Otimi provided school kits to mayors in the Ogou prefecture and the ‘Village de la Joie’ orphanage. The supplies, which include notebooks, pens, and geometric sets, aim to reduce the financial burden on low-income families and support primary education goals. The initiative covers areas including Atakpamé, Datcha, and Gléi.
In Cameroon, the Douala 3 municipality launched the ‘Back to School à Douala 3’ operation. Mayor Valentin Epoupa Bossambo led the distribution of the first tranche of kits to 300 children, with a total goal of supporting 1,000 vulnerable students. The program is designed to help families manage the costs associated with the start of the school year.
