Local officials hold religious pilgrimages in Poland

Local officials, firefighters, and community members participated in religious pilgrimages in the Sandomierz and Biłgoraj regions on October 4.

In Sulisławic, the XVI pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows included representatives from parliament and local authorities. During the mass, Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz addressed local leaders, using the biblical metaphor of a vineyard to emphasize their responsibility to protect and care for their communities with honesty and dedication.

In Górecko Kościelne, the V Pilgrimage of Local Government Officials and Village Heads of Biłgoraj County was held, coinciding with Village Head Day. The event, which was rescheduled from May due to major forest fires in the Puszcza Solskia region, served as both a religious observance and an opportunity for regional integration. Biłgoraj County Starost Andrzej Szarlip recognized the essential daily work of village heads and their importance to local residents.
